Luminescence at the heart of innovative Swiss watchmaking know-how
Billight, a story linked to those of its men and women
The Billight adventure began in the 1990s with Georges-André Leschot, a forerunner and visionary, who initially trained as an engineer. He decided to create his own machines, that would allow him to produce water-resistant capsules, so that he could insert a luminescent material, tritium, into them, which today has been replaced by Swiss SuperLuminova. This powder, containing a luminous, natural pigment, is encapsulated before being applied to the dial of the watches, so that the time can be read, even in total darkness.
Since then, the sky is the limit for the Billight company. The capsules developed in this manner can be round, in the form of small marbles, square, rectangular and even triangular. And today, its time to move on to 3D, with the development of our SLN blocks technology, making it possible to produce three-dimensional elements so that watch brands and their designers can let their creativity run wild!
Innovative, human, demanding… Today, these values and Billight’s expertise are still preciously preserved and transmitted to all of our employees by our directors. An almost exclusively feminine skill, combining meticulousness, rigour, and precision.
Know-how that is greatly valued by the biggest names in watchmaking
With over 300 clients and 30,000 dials processed per month, Billight works with the biggest watchmaking groups based in Switzerland, but also with independent watchmakers and designers. We are proud to count among our clients such prestigious brands as Blancpain, Chopard, Roger Dubuis, IWC, LVMH, Richemont, TAG Heuer, and Zenith, to name but a few.
